Why Is Personal Information Included In Instant Checkmate Background Reports?
All data in Instant Checkmate background reports is taken from public records. These public records might include your birth certificate, traffic tickets, or other information collected by federal, state, and local governments. This information is made public by laws that increase government transparency.
We compile all of this data into easy-to-read reports for Instant Checkmate members. When you opt out, your report is removed from the Instant Checkmate database. However, records that contain your information may still be publicly available from other sources.
How Do You Remove Inaccurate Information From A Report?
We continuously strive to offer the most accurate online background reports available. Despite those efforts, inaccurate information might accidently appear on individual reports. To ensure the integrity of our reports, we’ve made it easy for members to flag inaccurate information.
Individual data points on a report include a link with text that says “Edit/Remove” or just “Remove.” Members can click on the link to let Instant Checkmate know about data that should be changed or removed entirely.
When Will The People Directory Listing Be Removed?
If you opt out of Instant Checkmate, your name still might appear in our people directory in Google search results, even after we have removed your report from our database. Please allow up to five days for this listing to be removed.
Why Does Instant Checkmate Need Personal Information In Order To Opt Out?
Instant Checkmate contains millions of reports, and we want to ensure we remove the correct one when you request to opt out. Details such as your full name, date of birth, and address help us identify the exact report that you want us to remove. These details are particularly important if you happen to have a common name.
